⚠️ Before you do anything
Export the reports you need first. Deletion is permanent. If you are an organizer or treasurer, download the PDF or Excel reports for your events and keep them somewhere safe.
If you own an event, transfer it to another organizer first (Event details → Transfer ownership) or archive it, so the committee keeps its accounts. If you own an organization that has other members, make another admin its owner. The app will not delete an account until this is done, and tells you what is left.
1 · Delete in the app
- Open ChandaKhata and go to Settings
- Tap Request account deletion
- Confirm. The phone needs to be online for this step.
If you still own an event or a shared organization, the app says so and stops — transfer it, then try again. Otherwise your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.
2 · Or ask us by email
If you can't use the app — for example, you no longer have the phone — email us. Send it from the email on your account, or include the registered mobile number so we can confirm the request is really yours before acting on it.

Deleted
- Your sign-in account and your user profile — name, mobile number, email and the push-notification tokens of your devices
- Your membership and role in every event and organization
- Your in-app notifications
- Organizations where you were the only member
Kept with the event's accounts
- Money records — donations, pledges, expenses and handovers you recorded stay with the event, because they are the committee's accounts and its totals must stay correct. The event's history continues to show who recorded each entry.
- Unused messaging credits are not refunded.
- Payment records for anything you bought, kept as Indian tax law requires.
- Anything already shared — receipts sent to donors, and reports you exported.
⏱️ How long it takes
- In the app: immediately.
- By email: acknowledged within 2 working days and completed within 30 days, usually much sooner. We email you when it is done.
- Backup copies held by our cloud provider age out within a further 90 days.
